Meet the Australian Scrapbook Ideas Design Team

Joanne Baker

Joanne Baker

 Joanne Baker

Joanne has been scrapbooking since the birth of her daughter almost eight years ago. Her scrapbooking style has gone through many different phases but these days her style is best described as dimensional – a page doesn’t feel finished if it doesn’t have something lumpy and bumpy about it! Joanne loves learning new techniques and incorporating them into her work and is constantly amazed at the never-ending list of new scrapbooking products.

Alicia Barry

Alicia’s style is best described as clean but dimensional. Just give Alicia paper, scissors and glue and she is a happy girl. Alicia loves to hand-cut elements from patterned papers and use these as the central design feature on her pages. Alicia thinks of herself as a dimensional scrapper, as everything gets propped up on foam dots or adhesive to make it come to life and highlight the subject in the photo. She is currently on the Design Teams for Best Creations Inc, Helmar USA/Australia, A Crafter’s Passion and Scrapping Outback. Alicia has also designed for Kaisercraft, Bumblebee Wholesalers and Scrapbook City.

Rebecca Beattie

Rebecca loves all things scrapbooking and wouldn’t say she has one specific style, as she enjoys trying different approaches. Rebecca tailors the layout to suit the subject or photo while adding different texture or techniques to her work. She is currently on the Design Teams for Paper Scissors Chocolate, Tomorrow’s Memories and Raspberry. In the past Rebecca was lucky enough to be involved behind the scenes with Twiddleybitz and Kaisercraft.

Tracey Campbell

Tracey loves to teach and inspire, which has come in handy when teaching for the stores she has designed for. Her other love is photography and you will normally see Tracey with a camera in hand. Tracey doesn’t have a set style of scrapbooking, and is more experimental and eclectic, with her style changing to suit the photos and products at hand. Tracey keeps up to date with products and techniques and loves to experiment with anything she can get her hands on. She is currently on the Design Teams for Inspired Crafts, 123 and the Scrap That Baby challenge blog.

Mandy has lived in Canada, the United States as well as travelling extensively throughout Europe and Asia before settling in Australia. She is currently on the design team for Tattered Angels and Helmar Adhesives. Like many crafters Mandy has tried different crafts but the colours and textures lure her back to paper crafts. She classes her work as freestyle with mixed media techniques sneaking though on occasion. As a busy working mum and new grandmother Mandy has learned how to make the most out of her precious ‘me time’ with stylish but uncomplicated projects, and looks forward to sharing her tips and secrets with you.

Kylie Liston

Kylie fell in love with scrapbooking the minute she started it. A previously very uncreative person, she finds it a fantastic creative outlet and has fun designing unique and personal memories of her life. Kylie’s layouts are based around either the colours or the theme of her photographs and she also likes to seek ideas from others to expand her horizons.

Nerrida Mitchell

Nerrida’s style is constantly evolving but she’s often called a ‘pretty’ scrapper, which is handy given that she has three girls. She loves shabby chic and soft romantic layouts but also enjoys making cards. Being on the Kaisercraft Design Team this year, as well as Anna’s Craft Cupboard Design Team, has made Nerrida stretch and challenge herself. She has also been a past member of other Design Teams, including The Scrapbooking Company and Direct Scrapbooking Warehouse.

Scrapbooking is a way for Krishelle to remember special times with her girls but it also gives her a creative outlet. She likes to try different styles, but often returns to a simple style, with an eclectic feel. Her inspiration comes from the funniest places, a window dressing or a colour tone and she is inspired by the many other talented people within the craft community.

Karen is currently on the Design Teams for Kaisercraft and Scrapboxx and is proud to be a regular contributor to many scrapbook magazines. A busy mum to five children, she owns and runs a large cropping farm in Victoria alongside her husband. Karen’s family is the main inspiration for her layouts. She likes to vary her style of scrapping but has a real love for shabby chic/romantic-style layouts.

Barbara Shepherd

Barbara Shepherd

Barbara tries not to restrict herself to one genre as her inspiration is derived from the photographs. Her excitement is obtained though experimenting with new products, mastering techniques and the ability to push her creativity to its limits. Fascinated by the interactive, you will find incorporated onto Barbara‘s layouts elements that spin, swing, pull or slide to reveal bonus photographs or hidden journaling. With a passion for teaching Barbara finds her classes give her a new perspective on a technique or product. Barbara believes that there is no wrong way to scrapbook – it’s your photographs, your creation and as long as you love it, it’s perfect!
